Flies can present a very real hazard
to health. They can potentially spread diseases such as
dysentery, gastroenteritis and tuberculosis. They move from
filth to food indiscriminately, therefore making good
hygiene essential.
The food safety (Food Hygiene) General
Regulations 1995, states:
"...windows which are opened to the
outside environment must where necessary be fitted with
insect proof screens..."Fly screens and other proofing methods
could be utilised together with electronic fly killers
installed where appropriate
Fly
screens can be fitted to most windows but are
difficult to show in operation as they are next to
invisible.
The ones photographed here have been
shown partially open to make them more obvious
however this leads to the patterning shown in the
pictures which is not normally seen. |
